Vision Cable Cars

Different kinds of ideas regarding future possibilities to construct cable cars were developed for the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology. Hence, a series of 17 hand-drawings, retaining different ideas was created. Each of these 17 hand-drawings was done with a pencil on paper with the dimensions 100/70 cm.

How can we think the cable car new – maybe it is reduced to its necessity, so that the interior space is seen as amplified exterior space. Alternatively, it can be interpreted as spatial benefit. The stay in the cable car is no longer temporary, but stationary. Benefit space as attractive living space in the urban context.

If the cable car is used, conceived as room island, the sky is not the horizon, but the movement of the horizon itself is the dream of this island.

The connection of the cable car can be adjusted to spatial and climatic conditions. The place is not the place, but the possibility of a stay.

The cable car connection is dissolved from the general idealized connecting parameters, the cable cars become content and carrier of the intermediate area of urban context.

The connection is not limited to the horizontality also verticality is developed. The space in its entirety can be visited individually.

There is no defined objective; the objective is the movement per se. The landscape is defined as carrier of this movement.

The cable car as a spatial benefit, the stay in the cable car is not anymore temporary but stationary. Space with added value as attractive living space in the urban context.

The cable car is reduced to its necessity, the interior space can be seen as amplified exterior space.

The energy freed by the actuation of the home cable car is used as propulsion for the cable car itself, if it is not used, there is no propulsion.
